`!Basinghall Street`! (sometimes written as "Bassinghall") is a street in the `F33f`_`[City of London`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=City_of_London]`_`f, England. It lies chiefly in the ward of `F33f`_`[Bassishaw`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Bassishaw]`_`f (originally the street and the courts and passages leading off from it) with the southern end in `F33f`_`[Cheap`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Cheap_(ward)]`_`f and `F33f`_`[Coleman Street`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Coleman_Street]`_`f wards. The street and ward are named after the Bassing family, who built a `F33f`_`[hall house`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Hall_house]`_`f here in the 13th century and who were given certain privileges by the King.

The `F33f`_`[Guildhall`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Guildhall,_London]`_`f, of a few separate "wings" has entrances around Guildhall Yard abutting, as well as another street, the west of the street; and the allied `F33f`_`[Mayor's and City of London Court`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Mayor's_and_City_of_London_Court]`_`f forming "Guildhall Buildings" and its tree-lined walkways.`:cite-ref-1[`F5bf`_`[1`#cite-note-1]`_`f] The street was a direct link between `F33f`_`[Gresham Street`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Gresham_Street]`_`f, south then is cut off by building, most directly, from the road aspect of `F33f`_`[London Wall`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=London_Wall]`_`f north. The latter is accessed from the street's north-western spur and `F33f`_`[Aldermanbury`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Aldermanbury]`_`f `F33f`_`[Square`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Squares_in_London]`_`f and footway by Brewers Hall, or longer north-eastern spur which is named `!Bassinghall Avenue`! which hosts the verdant `F33f`_`[Girdlers' Company`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Girdlers'_Company]`_`f mansion and then a few metres of Coleman Street.

Despite this westward change, the meandering street has kept the same length: of about 270 metres.

`F33f`_`[St Michael Bassishaw`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=St_Michael_Bassishaw]`_`f was a church on the street demolished in 1900.
